The Overlord and King of Gonjaland His Royal Highness Dr Tuntunba Boresa l has banned all political radio discussions in Damongo.
This was confirmed to Yagbon radio by the registrar for Gonja Traditional Council. Mr Abutu Kapouri.
He said the Yagbon wura has banned all radio political discussion until all matters in the political circles between the NPP and the NDC are resolve.
Prior to 30th June 2020, the two major political parties in the Damongo constituency thus NDC and NPP had issue threats on the compilation of the new voters register.
This was a call for grave concern to most citizens in constituency as it had a tendency of causing anarchy .
During the registration of the new voter’s ID card for the first week, there were a lot of misunderstanding as far as who qualify to register as a voter in Damongo constituency is concerned.
Many thought the situation was under control.
However, matters got worsened as members of the the NDC and NPP will not stop throwing shades at each other.
Armed men were flown to Damongo to put the constituency under control .
The king of Gonjaland summoned the leadership of the two political parties to his palace.
In his Palace, He said until all issues are resolved no more political programs on radio .
He took this decision in order to curb incitement and political insults during this period.
Stop all that because i will not sit in my reign for young people of the same ethnic group shed blood in the name of politics, the Overlord ordered.
