For the first time in Ghana’s political history, Laribanga, a deprived farming community in the West Gonja Municipal Assembly of the Savannah Region can now boast of an Islamic SHS, as the school has been completed awaiting commissioning.
A 12 unit single storey has been completed under the Getfund emergency project and handed over to the Municipal Assembly to be commissioned soon by the Regional Minister, Hon. Adams Salifu Braimah.
The MCE, Hon. Saeed Muhazu Jibril together with his constituency executives inspected the building which was officially handed over to the Assembly on Wednesday, March 25th, by Alhaji Bronze LTD.

The MCE in his speech commended the Administration of the Nana Akufo Addo led government especially the vice president Dr. Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia for delivering on his campaign promise.
According to the MCE, Dr. Bawumia in his campaign to the 2016 general elections promised the people of Laribanga that should the NPP wins power, the community Will be given an Islamic SHS, and he has just done that under the Getfund project.
The MCE added that the 12 unit single storey alone would not be enough to run the school and therefore added that in a week the contractor will return to the site to start the construction of other axillary structures such as administration block and toilet facilities to aid in the smooth running of the school.

Mr. Saeed added that a borehole has been sunk and would later be mechanised for the school.
Mr. Iddrisu Laminu, the Communications Director of the NPP in the constituency told Yagbon News the school will commence operations in the next academic year.
