Sawla-Tuna- Kalba MP supports fight against Covid-19.

In his bid to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus (COVID – 19) in his constituency and the country at large, the Member of Parliament for Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Constituency, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey on Thursday 26th March, 2020, through his constituency executives donated some items to the Sawla- Tuna- Kalba Health Directorate.

The items includes; Veronica buckets, liquid soap and washing bowls.

The sanitary items were distributed to all health facilities in the constituency, markets, Police stations, lorry stations and the chief palace.

The MP who is a member of the Works and Housing Committee of Parliament has also promised to supply more of the Veronica buckets at vantage points to encourage hand washing.

The items were presented to the District Health Directorate by Alhaji Imoro Seidu, Regional Chairman of the Savannah Region NDC on behalf of the MP.

Receiving the items, the District Director of Health Services, Mr. Zakaria Abdul Kassim expressed his appreciation and thanked the MP for his continuous support for healthcare delivery in the district.

He pointed out a number of assistance the directorate so far received from the MP since 2017 to date.

He pledged that the items would be put to their intended use and prayed for more of such supports to help prevent the spread of COVID – 19 .

The Regional chairman urged the residents to ensure the laid down precautionary measures given by the Ghana Health Services and World Health Organization to avoid contracting the spreading of the virus.

Ghana’s COVID- 19 counts as at March 26, stood at 132 with 4 deaths.
