Dakomplayiri COP Child and Youth Development Center has organised a sensitization forum and fund raising forum in Dakomplayiri in Sawla -Tuna- Kalba District of Savannah Region under the Malaria Awareness Campaign program under the theme Zero Malaria start with me.

CYDC is a faith based organization under the church of Pentecost Sawla-Tuna- Kalba cluster of Projects and funded by Compassion International Ghana.

The forum brought officials from Ghana health service and environmental health unit to educate the community members of the preventing and containing malaria.

Speaking to Yagbon Radio the director for CYDC Mr Timothy Tungmene explained that the project main objective is for the development of children.

Outlining some project undertaken for the period included establishing computer lab, UC maths education, artisanal training, behavioral change education among others.

Mr Timothy however said with all these efforts the organization realized the community is bedeviled with serious health challenges especially malaria infections.

This he said are attributed to lack of a health facility for the community for which reason they had to undertake a project to build a CHPS Compound.

The organization however brought the various communities together to raise fund to start the project on their own.

He then appealed to benevolent individuals to donate in cash ,cement, iron rods, roofing sheets among others to support the community self -initiated project.
