The Bole District Assembly has been successfully inaugurated with the call for Assembly Members to be dedicated to propel development in their various areas.
During an inaugural speech by the District Chief Executive, Hon Veronica Alele Hemeng encouraged the Assembly Members to collaborate with their their Unit Committee Members.
The DCE added that though they were elected to represent their electoral areas , they also supposed to formulate policy toward the development of the entire District and not for their parochial interest.
She also encourages all to study their standing orders to be able to exercise their duty effectively by appealing to them to collaborate and cooperate with management for the development of the District.
His Excellency Chief Adam Zakaria congratulated the elected Assembly Members by saying he has fulfilled his mandate by appointing thirty percent of government appointee at the Assembly.
The Savannah Regional representative of the Council of State said Assembly Members have a duty to cooperate with management to realize development in their respective areas .
The Chief of Kpongri said with the collaboration and cooperation with management, it will create the needed development limiting citizens from moving to the south for greener pastures adding that they have a duty to formulate by laws in accordance with the constitution and enforce those laws.
ELECTION OF PRESIDING MEMBER
During the election of a Presiding Member, two members were nominated namely Hon David Bii Jimah of Tesilma electoral area and Hon Adams Dramani deen of Yelwa electoral area.
At the end of the first poll out of 40 assembly members Hon David Bii Jimah secured 14 votes and Hon Adams Dramani Deen pulled 25 votes with one member absent.
Hon Deen couldn’t have been made winner because he didn’t obtain two- third of the of the total votes cast .
The two later went into consensus that made Hon David Bii Jimah pulled out of the contest.
After a Yes and No ballot Hon Adams Dramani Deen secured 35 votes and 4 No votes .
Delivering his victory speech Hon Deen said he was glad to be made the PM for the 9th Assembly.
He said this demonstrate that Bole people are peace loving and ready to hold the Democratic principles of the country.
He said the exercise demonstrated that being a PM is not by power or might but because it is one seat it has to definitely be occupied by one person for that matter the honor.
He thanked his contender for the compromise for the sake of development of the Bole District.
