
Bole is set to host the 2026 edition of the Mallam Issah Volleyball Championship in December 2026, in what promises to be one of the biggest sporting events in the Savannah Region.
This came to light when the CEO of the Mallam Issah Foundation together with Hon. Bernard Mornah called on the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole-Bamboi,Hon.Dr. Alhaji Yussif Sulemana and the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole to officially notify them of the impending tournament.
The courtesy call, which took place at the MP’s Residence and in Bole, was to seek the support and blessings of the political leadership in the district ahead of the championship.
According to the organizers, 12 teams are expected to participate in the tournament, including an international team from Burkina Faso, making it a truly international competition that will put Bole on the sports map.

Speaking during the visit, the CEO of the Mallam Issah Foundation announced a donation of $3,000.00 to support the organisation of the tournament. He said the foundation is committed to using sports to unearth talents and promote unity among the youth in Bole and beyond.
“We believe volleyball has huge potential in this part of Ghana. This championship is to honour Mallam Issah and to give our young people a platform to showcase their talent,” the CEO stated.
Hon. Bernard Mornah, who accompanied the CEO, commended the foundation for the initiative and called on all stakeholders to support it to make it a success.
On his part, the MP for Bole-Bamboi lauded the organizers for choosing Bole as the host town and pledged to support the Local Organising Committee (LOC) to ensure a successful tournament.
The DCE for Bole, Hon. Mahmud Abdulai also expressed his excitement about the championship, noting that it will boost local businesses and promote tourism in the district.
The Mallam Issah Volleyball Championship is scheduled for December 2026 in Bole.
