A 26-year-old woman by name Janet Nunnee from Don-Arayiri in the Sawla- Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region is responding to treatment after her husband inflicted multiple machete wounds on her hands and face during an altercation.

Confirming the incident to Yagbon News, the Assembly Member for the area Mr. Badamwine Prosper said the scuffle ccurred during the night on Thursday, October 14, 2021.

According to him, the man and his wife who both traveled from the southern part of Ghana to attend a funeral of a relative had earlier on picked up quarrels before their coming to their home town.

Mr Prosper narrated that, the man had earlier threatened the life of the woman after and he warned that she shouldn’t travel to the north for the funeral of a lost relative.

“He has persistently prevented the wife from attending a funeral of three passed away relatives and I think that doesn’t auger well for her family”, Prosper told Yagbon News.

The man only identified as Bubar, this time around decided to follow her up to the family house and out of anger decided to slash the fingers (phalanges), and the face of the woman, Prosper added.

The Assemblyman added the man bolted away after commiting the act and that the matter has since been reported to the Kalba police for investigations while the woman is currently receiving treatment at the Kalba health centre.
