The Savannah Region NDC has expressed worries over how the Region has been neglected by the NPP administration led by president Akufo Addo.

Mr. Malik Basintale, the Savannah Region NDC Communications Officer disclosed this to Yagbon Radio Abdul Fatawu, during Yagbon Radio “Tea Cup” show after the Savannah Region NDC release “reinstate our share of District Hospitals within 48 hours or face us squarely”

According to him, the people of Savannah Region have not seen any major development under the NPP government as the Region is excluded in government promise of building 88 District Hospitals across the country.

Malik added that the people of Savannah Region have been ignored and betrayed by the Akufo Addo led government since assumption of office.
He said the Region will not continue to be subjected to such hatred and insensitivity by the president even after claiming ” Our brother from Kyebi is better than our from Bole- Bamboi “.

The NDC Communications Officer said what is more worrying is the fact that out of 16 regions making the nation, Ghana, it is only Savannah Region that has been neglected, thrown out and dumped like a piece of tissue paper and 15 other regions have been properly represented on the allocation paper.

How could this be Mr. President, Malik quizzes.

On 26th April, President Akufo Addo, in an address to the state promised to build 88 District Hospitals and 6 Regional Hospitals in the newly Regions across the country but going through the list of the beneficiary Districts and Regions issued and signed by the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama, Savannah Region is completely missing, Malik indicated.

He said the NDC in the Region has given the Government 48 hours to reinstate Savannah Region in the list or face their wrath.

However, the Savannah Region NPP Communication Director, Mr. Mohammed Issah in a reaction to the statement of the Savannah Region NDC, told Yagbon Radio Abdul Fatawu that the omission of Savannah Region from the list is an oversight and that it will be rectified within a short time.

He mentioned North Gonja District, North- East Gonja and the Regional capital as areas set to benefit from the District and Regional hospitals allocation.

Below is the list of beneficiary District and Regions of Government 88 Hospitals signed and  released by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
