A pressure group in the Savannah Region called Peace For Savannah Region, has said Former President Mahama should take Savannah Region out in his insult on Akyems.

The group stated this in a press conference on Monday 14 September 2020 in the Savannah Regional Capital Damongo.

Addressing the media, the Convenor Fredrick Tahiru said they should not regard the so call ‘Progressive youth’ as the convenor (Issifu Seidu Gbeadese ) is an NDC member who hid behind the group the send their message.

To justify their claim he said he is the research assistant of the current member of parliament for Damongo constituency and was supported by some branch executive of the NDC in the Damongo constituency.

Mr. Tahiru said he was behind the petition to the UN to remove Nana Addo as the co-chair on SDG. So he is a political enemy of the president and therefore should be disregarded, Mr Tahiru stated.

The group stated that Former President Mahama is a son of Gonjaland and will never be denied that but aside all the effort to put him where he is today, he disappointed our chiefs because he was not taught to insult other tribes.

The group said the people of Gonjaland are discerning and not tribal bigots but draw the attention of the people of Ghana that H.E John Mahama is taking us on a dangerous path.

Mr. Tahairu said since 2007 when Former President Mahama was nominated as the running mate our people however call on us to vote him because he is one of our own but nothing came out of it. Bad roads, unemployment, poor electricity coverage, and a four decade request of a Region which he denied us.

But today the Akyem man they said we should not vote for has given us has constructed our roads, employ our youth, extend electricity among others

They said the people of Gonjaland are not cowards and not tribal bigots to fight any ethnic group for some one interest.

They then call on the people of Gonjaland not fight people who wish us good.
