The Member of Parliament for the Bole-Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana has urged students to use technology positively for their growth and development.
With available technology, he said, students should use it to their advantage to acquire new skills and knowledge.
In a speech read on the MP’s behalf at the graduation ceremony of Bole Pentecost Preparatory School, he reaffirmed his commitment to supporting education in Bole-Bamboi constituency.
Mr Iddisa Tahiru, spokesperson to the MP who spoke at the event highlighted the crucial role of education in social and economic transformation and lauded the school for its continuous provision of relevant education to students in a disciplined environment.
He said, “Education, in every sense, is one of the fundamentals of development. No country can achieve sustainable economic development without substantial investment in its human capital. Education enriches people’s understanding of themselves and world.
“It improves the quality of their lives productivity and creativity, promotes technological advances. In addition, it plays a crucial role in securing economic and social progress and improves income distribution”.
The MP said he revered education and would continue to expand opportunities for education seeing it as a means to contribute to the process of uplifting the people.
“I revere education”, the MP, who is also a Member of the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament (PAC), is committed to improving education in the constituency in many folds, Mr Iddisa Tahiru noted.
Mr Tahiru chronicled some achievements in the education sector since the MP’s tenure began and assured the people that the lawmaker would create an enabling environment for academic work to thrive in the constituency.
He stated that the legislator has donated furniture to schools, distributing of mathematical sets to BECE candidates, adoption of two community schools awaiting government absorption among others as his commitment to improving education in the constituency.
The MP through his spokesperson later donated two thousand Ghana cedis to Pentecost Preparatory School in support of activities of the graduation ceremony.
