Zakat Foundation of America, as part of its 20th anniversary celebration has commissioned a multi purpose community center at Bamboo in the Bole District of the Savannah Region
The 1.3m multi purpose project contains 300 seat auditorium, 50 seat conference hall, 40 seat hall, a Jim, one bed clinic, mechanised borehole, standby generator, solar for the library among others.
Speaking on behalf of the Omanhena Kwaku Dapaah Naa C. K. Chirankwa said they lost their community center some years ago when the new road constructed in Bamboi
He described the facility as a dream come through as many efforts were made to reconstruct a new one which countless times.
He said they were grateful as a traditional council for the magnificent edifice built for them.
Speaking at the ceremony on the 20years of changing lives, Alhaji Salia Hassan, the country Director of Zakat Foundation, said the foundation was formed in Chicago in the United States of America in 2001 and the Ghana chapter was formed in 2002.
He said since that time the foundation has undertaken 23 projects including boreholes, ambulances provision , supporting orphans among others .
“Citizens at times lack the understanding to how the NGO works and some think they can betrayed me by taking him out of his position among others as his challenges”he bemoaned.
He said this will not deter him but see to the development of his people.
He describe the facility as one of his biggest achievement as the country director of Zakat Foundation.
The Bole District Health Director said people of Alhaji salia nature are lucky adding that he is a man that cares about the society.
According to her, when she came to the District she has heard a lot about Alhaji Salia, and this edifice is a vindication of the numerous projects he and his Foundation has done and pray that may the good lord continue to support and strengthen his dream.
