A commercial driver, who plies the Sawla- Bole road is appealing to the government, to as a matter of urgency, fix the pot-holes on the road from Doli to Bole to prevent pedestrians knock downs and other road related casualties.
The driver, Fuseini Diabor, told Yagbon News in an interview that the potholes on the road especially on the damaged speed ramps in the Bole town is causing him a lot financially as he keeps on fixing parts of his car on daily basis.
“I use the shoulders of the road in order not to spoil my car”, frustrated Diabor indicated .
Mr. Fuseini Diabor made these revelations when he single handily start fixing the pot-holes with stones and sand from Doli to Bole especially the pot-holes -holes on the damaged speed ramps.
Last week an accident occurred at Doli as a result of these pot-holes on the road, he told Yagbon News.
Yagbon News checks also revealed that a KIA Rhino loaded with charcoal also fell around St.Kizotos A JHS as a result of the pot-holes on a damaged speed ramps.
“I have decided to fill the pot-holes with stones and sand to avoid further accidents, though this is temporary, but I think it will be of much help to me as driver”, Mr. added.
“No one has asked me to fix the pot-holes, this is just voluntarily,” he noted.
Mr. Fuseini Diabor, has therefore appealed to the Bole District Assembly as a matter of urgency to fix the pot- holes on the damaged speed ramps to avert further accidents.
Some officials of the Bole District Assembly, at a time, questioned the manner in which the contract for the speed ramps on the road were awarded, attributing the deterioration to shoddy work due to lack of due diligence in the award of the contract.
