Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey has been re-elected as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba constituency in the Savannah Region.

In a keenly contested race, Hon. Andrew emerged victorious, defeating former constituency secretary Chorchiitey Mathew, Botah Y. Ernest and Seidu Nuhu.

The incumbent MP polled 651 votes of the total valid votes cast, while Chorchiitey had 51 votes, Botah and Seidu had 102 and 223 votes respectively.

19 votes were rejected.

With this win, Andrew will continue to represent the NDC in the Sawla- Tuna-Kalba Constituency as he seeks to retain the seat in the 2024 general elections.

Hon. Andrew won the seat in the 2016 general elections after contesting in the party’s parliamentary primaries in 2015 and went on to retain the seat in the 2020 general elections.

Hon. Andrew is serving on the Works and Housing Committee and the Government Assurance Committee of Parliament.
