Hon Yusif Sulemana, the incumbent Member of Parliament for the Bole- Bamboi constituency has beaten two other contenders in the NDC primaries to retain the parliamentary candidature slot ahead of elections 2024.
The Member of Parliament polled 661 out of the total vote cast of 1,049 while his opponents Mahama Amantana Yahaya and Richard Abdulai Kaara got 228 and 155 respectively.
Addressing the media after his victory the constituency lawmaker said he was optimistic of wining the contest.
The Deputy Ranking Member of the Trades and Industry Committee of Parliament said he is overwhelmed by the confidence the delegates had reposed in him to lead the party into 2024 in the Bole-Bamboi constituency .
The third time contestant explained that the NDC needs unity and a formidable candidate for 2024 election due to the poor governance of the New Patriotic Party.
Hon Sulemana said he is coming again with humility and respect to serve his people as he has always done.
former president John Dramani Mahama has also won overwhelmingly beaten Kojo Bonsu in the Bole-Bamboi constituency in the Presidential candidature race.
The flag bearer of the National Democratic Congress for the 2020 Presidential elections polled 1,025 out of 1035 valid votes cast while Kojo Bonsu polled 12 votes.
Addressing the media after the casting his vote in the in the early hours on 13th May 2023 , Mr Mahama explained that Dr kwabena Duffuor decision to pull out of the election is not wrong but problematic in the timing.
He said he waited till three to four days to the election before raising his concerns.
He however explained that there are no cracks in the party but only some little disagreement which he promised will be dealt with after the election.
