Bole District Health Directorate to roll out another phase of Covid- 19 vaccination.

The Bole District Health Directorate has held a stakeholders engagement on COVID-19 as part of rolling out another phase of vaccination for the people of Bole District.

The new phase which is expected to take place on 20 to 24 December 2023 comes with the normal jabs and the boosters.

Speaking at the stakeholders meeting Queen mother,Hajia Fuseina Sulemana, the District Health Director of Health Services B said the citizens are reluctant to come out and take the COVID vaccines.

She said the service has tasked them to hold a stakeholder engagement to harness views that will encourage the citizens to accept the vaccines.

According to the District Director, they were given a target of 85,237 with a minimum of 85% but regrettably only 64% of their target was met.

Dhe pleaded with stakeholders to encourage the citizens to take part in the incoming exercise.

She said there is a growing perception among the populace on the COVID vaccine making the work difficult adding that community members even asked some questions that do not matter to the situation at hand just to avoid vaccination.

She also regrettably announced the outbreak of measles in the District.

She said they received a total of 46 cases since 22 December 2022 to January 17 2023.

S he said the District has received 11 confirmed cases with two(2) negative cases with 33 pending

The Director called on the public to assist the Directorate to protect the public
as she announces one suspected case of monkey pox case which is still under testing in Accra.

Mr NKetia Addison, the District Health Promotion Officer called on stakeholders to put the views to bear in order to control the current situation.
