Beneficiaries of the Youth in Afforestation programme in the Bole District of the Savannah Region have appealed to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to enroll them into government payroll as permanent staff.
According to them, it is almost six years of commitment and consistent service to the nation and therefore called upon the concerned authorities to consider given them permanent employment.
The sixteen beneficiaries of the programme believed that they have gained relevant employment skills after serving in their respective portfolios diligently.
They were engaged as officers in the government’s flagship programme,Youth in Afforestation under the Forestry Commission and the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources in 2018.
The officers were to be recruited permanently after serving their respective portfolios but are yet to receive any favourable response from their employer.
They are therefore through an application letter appealing to the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to consider employing them permanently.
The Youth in Afforestation programme was launched in 2018 in line with the government’s commitment to reforestation, forest rehabilitation and forest protection activities.
There are so 100,000 beneficiaries of the programme across the country.
