Zion Community Church International commissions borehole at Gbeneyiri.

The Executive Director of Frontier Missions Network and founder of the Zion Community Church International, Dr Apostle Moses Konjon Sansa has handed over a newly dug out hand pump borehole to Gbeneyiri community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.

Dr. Apostle Moses said though they church goes into the hinterlands to preach the gospel of God, it’s also their cooperate activities to commit their resources to thy provisioning of potable water to deprived communities which are in dying need of water.

He said his target is to commit to the Sustainable Development Goals 6 which aims at making sure that all communities in the world gets clean potable water to drink without any struggle.

Residents especially women in the community recounts how they compete with animals in the almost dried up streams to collect water for their domestic chores.

They said the water will improve their daily health, economic activities and social activities.

Speaking today at the program the Assembly member for Gbeneyiri Electoral Area, Hon Clement Nakoh Baakunie, said he was very grateful for the support.

He said the community residents has over decades been fetching drinking water from unhygienic sources hence could cause outbreak of water borne diseases to residents.

Hon. Nakoh said the borehole will serve a population of about 1,800 residents who are predominantly farmers.

Women in the community also regretted how they have been fetching water in the streams at odd hours since their childhood.

They mentioned that it’s a great relief to the community especially women in the community.

Among other things, residents of the Community were taken through personal hygiene as in hand Washing exercise at the sideline of the program.

It was on the theme, clean hands, clean heart.

Meanwhile the executive director later in his itinerary paid a short courtesy call on Bolewura Sarfo Kuntuge Feso I before departing from his missionary activities.
