The Savannah Regional Minister Hon. Saeed Jibril has accused the younger brother of former President John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Peter Mahama as the reason why the Daboya road project has not been completed.

Hon. Saeed Jibril made the statement during the regional Annual Delegates conference of the NPP in the Savannah Region on Friday,1st October, 2021 in Daboya.

In his speech the Minister said ” the Daboya road project has not been abandoned by the NPP Government but it has not been completed as a result of the malicious intention of Peter Mahama against the NPP in favor of his elder brother, John Dramani Mahama”.

He stated that the Ministry of Roads and Highways have duely made payments to Mr. Peter Mahama and if not for the intention of him to win political points for his brother the project should have been completed by now.

But the Minister assured the people of Daboya that the NPP is going to follow up on the project in the next couple of months and if Mr. Peter Mahama fails to come back to site then the contract shall be abrogated and be reawarded to a different contractor.

He further noted that the Bole Training College which is claimed to have been abandoned by the NPP by the opposition NDC in the Region is a mere political gimmick and therefore there is no project as such in the records of GETFund.

He also stated that there was no loan acquired for the Damongo water project as claimed by the opposition NDC but for the intervention of Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo the project is almost at a level of completion.

Meanwhile, he called on all party faithfuls in the Region to accept individuals nominated by the president as MMDCEs in the Region and to unanimously approve them for the promotion of development at the various assemblies in the Region.
