We are not under any pressure to favour any team- Division Two Chairman clears the air.

The Chairman of the Division Two Committee of the Northern Regional Football Association has denied rumours that his committee is under immensed pressure to ensure that a particular team qualifies for Division One.

Contributing to Yagbon Radio’s Weekend Sports program, Talk Sports, Mr Mohammed said it was not clear which team has won the middle league because there were three protest cases before the Disciplinary Committee to adjudicate.

He explained that STK Stars (the team many thought has qualified) has filled a protest against Savelugu Yoo FC after their game ended abruptly.

Meanwhile Dreams FC is contesting the eligibility of two players used by STK Stars which in turn has summited a counter protest about the eligibility of a Dreams player.

He said he had no doubt that the competent Disciplinary Committee would apply all related regulations appropriately to fairly and timely adjudicate all the cases before it.

The Chairman entreated all supporters to remain calm and have confidence in the system to declare the winner of the league.

The Northern Regional Football Association 2021 Division Two league climax was a five-team middle league played between 23rd September to 27th September, 2021, but no winner was declared due to the aforementioned reasons.

However, STK Stars and Dreams FC are the two front runners for the sole ticket to play in the 2021/22 National Division One league.
