The lack of accommodation for teachers at Tinyekura in the Bole District has contributed greatly to frequent absenteeism on the part of teachers who commuted daily to the community from other destinations.

The situation which is hampering academic work, has been a source of concern to parents and guardians in the area.

Hon. Enbong Alim Kuusaari, Assembly member for the Chache Electoral Area who disclosed this on his Facebook page on February 14, 2021, said staffing at the Tinyekura D/A primary has been a major challenge since the completion of the school.

He said the situation had compelled some teachers to put up at the school’s office which was inadequate, while others who could not afford the exhorbitant lorry fares charged by drivers plying the area absented themselves from school frequently.

The Assemblyman also stated that teaching and learning materials were lacking in all the basic schools in his electoral area when he visited all the three basic schools thus, Tinyekura D/A primary school, Jentige D/A primary school and Chache D/ A primary on 4th and 5th of February, 2021.

Hon. Alim, appealed to individuals including the Member of Parliament, Hon.Yusif Sulemana, the Bole District Assembly, the District Education Directorate and other organisations and government to collaborate and build a bungalow for teachers in the community as well as provide teaching and learning materials to the schools to improve teaching and learning in the area.
