Alhaji Adam Zakaria, a former principal of the Bagabaga Teacher Training College has been elected to represent the Savannah Region as a Council of State member in an election which he won with hundred percent margin.
Alhaji Adam polled all 14 votes while his two other contestants Lepowura MND Jawula and Mr Mohammed Adam Abdul got zero votes respectively.
The elections was reportedly said to be delayed but was finally conducted peacefully at the West Gonja Municipal Assembly hall.
In all, seven (7) Municipalities and Districts Assemblies partook in the elections by nominating two (2) members each who are having a voting right.
They include West Gonja Municipality, Salaga South Municipality, Bole/Bamboi district, Sawla-Tuna- Kalba district, North Gonja district, Central Gonja district and North-East district.
