
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Wa West District, Hon. Richard Wulo, the NADMO Director , Hon. Gyirikar Nicholas Damuo ,and the DRIP coordinator Mr. Mauzy today 1st July, 2026 visited bridges that were washed away by recent heavy rains to assess the extent of the damage and interact with affected community members.
During the visit, the DCE inspected the damaged bridges and received briefings from the Assembly member , Hon Kyekuo Leayi Emmanuel and community leaders.
The inspection revealed that the floods had severely affected transportation, making it difficult for residents to access schools, health facilities, markets, and farms.
The DCE expressed concern over the situation and sympathized with the affected community. He assured residents that the District Assembly would work closely with the relevant government agencies to secure the necessary resources for the rehabilitation and reconstruction of the damaged bridges.
He added that the Wa West District Assembly remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and will continue to engage stakeholders to restore access and improve infrastructure across the district.
The Assembly member on behalf of the community leaders thanked the DCE and his entourage for visiting this unfortunate incident that occurred.
He added that the community members are anxiously waiting for the start of the work before they finally pour the word of blessings to the hon. DCE and the Assembly as a whole.
