The National Prayers and Thanks giving Day was solemnly observed in Bole today, an initiative lead by President John Dramani Mahama.
District Coordinating Director, Emmanuel Boateng, representing the DCE,said the day, introduced in 2025, was set aside to seek God’s guidance and blessings for the nation.
Prayers were offered for the President, Vice President, ministers, the Member of Parliament, the District Chief Executive, and the people of Bole.
Speaking on the theme, “Resetting Our Values to Build the Ghana We Want,” Mr. Boateng urged residents to uphold their civic responsibilities.
He cited recent flooding in parts of the country, blaming poor sanitation practices, especially the dumping of refuse into drains. He called on residents to change their behaviour to help prevent such disasters.
Mr. Boateng stressed that national development depends on both prayer and responsible citizenship. He urged the people of Bole to work together for the progress of the district and Ghana.
Chairman of the Local Council of Churches, Pastor Nicholas Awusi, described the church as an important partner in development.
He said the church supports society through spiritual guidance, poverty reduction, rehabilitation, and community service. He also thanked the District Assembly for giving the church representation in its decision-making process.
Pastor Awusi pledged the church’s readiness to support the Assembly in any initiative aimed at developing the district. He called for stronger collaboration between religious bodies and local authorities.
The event was attended by pastors from various churches, Muslim leaders, students, officials of the Bole District Assembly, and members of the public, who joined in prayers for peace, unity, and national development.
