The Youth wing and the Tertiary Students Conference of the New Patriotic Party under the auspices of the Regional youth organizer has held their 2023 annual conference dubbed the “THE BIG EVENT”with a call for unity and togetherness to enable the party retain political power in 2024.
The conference was under the theme “Holding and working together to consolidate our gains in 2024, the role of the youth”, attracted the big wigs in the elephant fraternity including regional and national executives, government appointees among others.
In a welcome address, the regional youth organizer Mr Raphael Mahama Akati, said as a first ever youth organizer in the Region he has consolidated some gains with the support of the regional executives.
He said the Region has seen a lot of transformation in the youth front through the efforts of Clifford Braimah and the Samuel Abu Jinapor.
He called on them to remain resolute to see the party win in 2024 to break the eight years cycle as they are the future of the party.
Speaking on the history and the founding fathers of the party, the Savannah Regional Secretary, Mr Mohammed Issah said the youth should appreciate the efforts of the party and embrace it towards the future.
He explained that history is what gives hope to the young ones to see the future which means the youth are the next generation of the party.
He said they shouldn’t vilify the party in the eyes of the world that will lead it to opposition which will truncate their progress because NDC can not be an option.
The Regional Minister, Hon Muazu jibril Saeed, said unity is the reason the party is in power so they should embrace unity.
He said all signs and data show the youth are taking over everything in Ghana so they should know the fortunes of the party are in their hand.
The Regional Chairman of the party Prof. Kalomonoa said they should consider the founding fathers of TESCON who are now enjoying the fruits of their labour.
He said tomorrow he knows will make an impact adding that Samuel Abu Jinapor was just like them and today he is a substantive and care take Minister.
He urged them to work hard to see NPP break the “8” because they cannot assure the country into the hands of NDC again because they will take the country back to where it was that took them to opposition.
The National Youth Organizer Salam Mustapha said young people in NPP should embrace patience and sacrifice as their hallmarks.
According to him he is just from a small village in Northern Region but today is a National Youth Organizer.
He said they shouldn’t allow the current situation make them to stay off because their relevance will not be felt and that they should defend the party any where for them to give the party another success come 2024.
Other speakers included Lawrata saaka, Hajia Safia Mohammed Deputy National women Organizer, the National deputy secretary among others.
