The New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency elections in the Bole-Bamboi Constituency in the Savannah Region took place on Thursday the 28th of April, 2022.
The elections saw a number of the incumbents losing their positions.
The incumbent Constituency Chairman, Sulemana Zakaria, was defeated by Alhaji Abu Bilfu, a businessman.
Alhaji Abu Bilfu polled 420 votes to beat Sulemana Zakaria, who also had 202 votes.
In a welcome address by Madam Veronica Alele Heming, the DCE for Bole District prior to elections said “today is a great day for the NPP party In the Bole-Bamboi Constituency to elect their party Executives, so I urged all delegates to vote and vote well, at the end of the elections I welcome those who will win and those who will loose, because it’s an internal affair”.
She also called for unity among themselves and work as one towards 2024 general elections.
Dr. Soale Boah, the Commissioner of the planning Commission of the NPP, who swore the new executives into office, reminded them of the task ahead of them told them and said that with dedication and hard work they could win the 2024 polls.
Alhaji Abu Bilfo heads the new Executives as the Chairman, with Mahama Abdulai as 1st Vice and Mahama Yakubu (Noto) as 2nd Vice, Hon. Mahama Shiraz Deen as Secretary, while Issah Mahama is the Deputy Secretary, Mr Ernest Agyapong is the Organiser, Mahama Seidu (Airport) is the Treasurer
Other are Mr. Amantana Seidu, Youth Organiser, Mumuni Adishetu, Women’s Organiser, and Mr. Mohammed Alfa is the Nassara Coordinator.
Speaking to Yagbon News after been sworn into office, Alhaji Abu (Tico) expressed appreciation to the delegates for the confidence they had reposed in him.
He pledged their preparedness to work with the old executives who lost their positions and called for unity and co-operation.
The newly elected Chairman, Alhaji Abu Bilfu, called for unity in the party saying without it, the party cannot do anything.
He pledged to work hard to bring everyone on-board to consolidate the fortunes of the NPP in the constituency.
