Hon. Muazu Saeed Jibril, Savannah Regional Minister, has said that the accelerated growth the Region is yearning for could be achieved through a collaborative effort, urging all to come onboard.
He said “we are in this business together, but with different roles and responsibilities to contribute to push our development forward, we are in a chain and if one link breaks the entire system will grind to a halt”.
Hon. Saeed, said each and everyone had a part to play in promoting the development of the Region and it was essential that the roles were not carried out in isolation but collectively to improve on the well-being of all.
The Minister was speaking to Yagbon Radio morning show host Abdul Fataw Diwura on Wednesday September 20, 2023, after the Roads and Highway Minister, Mr Amoako Atta inspected the collapsed bridge at Doli on the Bole- Wa road which was washed out on Sunday as result of a heavy rainfall.
He told the host that the coming of the Roads and Highway Minister to the inspect the site comes with good news because the he has recommended temporary measures to be put across to enable commuters access the road.
“Government is committed to seeing that the road is put back to its regular usage”, he added.
The Minister lauded the efforts of the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi constituency, Hon. Yusif Sulemana for his efforts in seeing that the collapsed bridge is fixed.
Road transport from Bole to Wa in the Upper West Region has been cut off following a collapsed bridge on the Doli stretch of the route last Sunday.
The bridge is said to have been washed away after a dam by the side of the road broke its bank.
The road from Bole to Wa has since become impassable, leaving commuters stranded.
A downpour, which lasted for several hours last Sunday dawn, swept away a bridge at Doli in the Bole District in the Savannah Region, making the main road linking the Upper West Region to the south inaccessible.
The Minister was accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways, Stephen Jalulah, the Savannah Regional Minister, Saeed Muhazu Jibril, officials of NADMO and the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA).
As part of the visit, the delegation also inspected sections of the N1 highway and drainage systems that were in deplorable state.
