The Savannah Regional Communications Directorate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched a counter attack at the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Member of Parliament for the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba constituency, Hon. Andrew Dari Chiwitey, saying the recent claims made by the MP and the Northern Region NDC caucus in Parliament that the Akufo-Addo led administration did not construct a single borehole in five years were only fabricated lies.
A press conference by the NDC Northern Parliamentary Caucus addressed by the Member of Parliament for the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency of the Savannah Region, Andrew Dari Chiwitey, alleged that unlike other parts of the north, the Akufo-Addo government has not provided any borehole in the Savannah region in the past five years.
But in a the reactive press conference by the Director of Communications of NPP in the region, Mr. Issah Mohammed noted that, the claims made by the MP were palpable false.
According to Mr Issah, the ruling government has been phenomenal as compared to what the erstwhile NDC government did on the provision of water to the people and therefore has an unprecedented record in the subject area.
Mr Issah catalogued over sixty boreholes been drilled across the region among other small town water systems projects.
In the Sawla- Tuna-Kalba constituency, which is the constituency of Hon. Andrew, Mr Issah emphatically stated that 8 communities had benefited from boreholes under the stewardship of the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration.
He said the NPP in the Region has been more responsive to the plights of the people as compared to that of the erstwhile John Mahama administration of the NDC.
According to him, the claims by the MP and the NDC are inaccurate and amounts to petty propaganda.
Mr Issah reiterated that after the people of the region had suffered in search of water under the 8 years of their own brother,a distant brother as in president Akufo-Addo heeded to the plights of the people by providing water facilities to the people of Centra Gonja,Salaga and the Damongo water project which is 80% complete.
The NPP has delivered more water facilities to the people of the Region as compared to the NDC and their claims only amounts to mere propaganda, Mr Issah told the press.
