Two suspected armed robbers have been gunned down by the Police at Kalba in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
The two suspected robbers lost their lives after sustaining gunshot wounds during a shoot-out with the Police in the Kalba community.
The District Police Commander, ASP Degraft Armah Adjei speaking to Yagbon News said the suspected robbers entered the community in the early hours of Sunday and started shooting indiscriminately.
He said the community together with police exchanged gun shots with robbers resulting in the death of two.
Others excaped during the shoot- out with the police, he added.
Two unregistered motorbikes, a knife and some foreign gun cartridges were retrieved, ASP Degraft told Yagbon News.
Meanwhile, the remains of the robbers have been deposited at the Damongo mortuary for identification.
This comes barely three days ago when two young men were killed by suspected armed robbers in a broad day robbery in Sawla in the Savannah Region.
According to eyewitnesses, the armed robbers, four in number and in face masks, attacked phone shops in the Sawla township and made away with phones, cash and valuables.
The deceased are said to be part of a group of young men who chased after the robbers after the robbery.
They opened fire on the young men resulting in the death of the two residents of Sawla.
