The Deputy Ranking Member of Trades and Industry of Parliament and Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole- Bamboi constituency at the weekend, donated 200 bags of sugar to the Muslim communities in the constituency.
The sugar would be shared among the needy in the constituency to help them towards their on-going Ramadan.
At a brief ceremony at his residence to hand over the sugar, the MP indicated that donation of sugar to the Muslim communities annually has become part of his duties as he does that too to the Christian Community during Christmas.

He said the sugar would be distributed equally to identifiable needy persons in the constituency irrespective of one’s political affiliation, tribe or background because the sugar was procured through his Common Fund( MPs Common Fund) share of which every constituents stands to benefit.
The Constituency lawmaker urged Muslims to use this period of fasting to pray for the constituency, Savannah Region and Ghana at large as the world still battles with the emergence of covid- 19.
The MP also used the opportunity to reecho on the guild lines issued by the WHO and GHS in preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
He urged residents of the constituency and Ghana at large to adhere to the protocols as in observing physical and social distancing, regularly washing of hands with soap under running water,wearing of nose masks, use of sanitizers regularly to combat the spread of the virus.
The novel coronavirus since its outbreak in Ghana has affected 2,169 persons with 18 deaths and 229 recoveries in 12 of Ghana’s Regions excluding Bono,Bono- East, Ahafo and Savannah Regions.
