The Bole Community Cooperative Credit Union has on Friday October 29, 2021, donated educational materials to Tinga Community Technical Senior High/Technical School in the Bole District of the Savannah Region.
The donation, which took place at the school premises was part of the organization’s humanitarian activities aimed at encouraging pupils and parents in deprived communities to know the importance of education as the institution joins the rest of the world in celebrating this year’s International Credit Union Day.
The donation comprised of over 90 Text books which included Government, Geography, English Language, Mathematics and Economics to be distributed to the students to enhance effective teaching and learning.
Interacting with the students, the General Manager of the Bole Community Cooperative Credit Union, Mr. Issah Hussein, the Vice board chairperson, Mr. John Bosco among other stakeholders of the institution took the students through matters relating to financial literacy and the need to save for unforseen circumstances.
In his speech of Mr. Issah Hussein he said “saving with a credit union makes you a part owner of the firm and your money is fully insured no matter the circumstance”.
“The best and trusted credit union within the Savannah is the Bole community cooperative credit and other affiliated branches in Tuna, Damongo and Tinga because we have been in operation close to two decades” he added.
Mr. Sijaabom Samuel, Headmaster of the school speaking to Yagbon News also noted that the donation came at the right time and will go a long way to support the school towards achieving academic excellence.
He assured that the books will be put to their rightful use in order to achieve the intended purpose of the donation and called on NGOs and other philanthropic individuals to come to their aid since they have other confronting challenges in the school.
