Bole District NCCE holds Inter- party dialogue.

The Bole District National Commission on Civic Education on October 8,2024, held an Inter-party dialogue committee with a call on political parties to ensure a peaceful atmosphere before,during and after 2024 elections.

The meeting is the second of its kind in 2024 as part of prevention and containing violence extremist funded by the European Union.

In a welcome address at the Pentecost church in Bole, the District Director of NCCE Mrs Konlan Margaret, called on all political parties to ensure there is peace.

The Director emphasized that peace is a collective responsiblity involving all stakeholders and that include you the political parties.

She called on political communicators to be mindful of their utterances during radio discussions adding that media houses must be neutral and objective.

She mentioned including religious,political, tribal tolerance treads of the peace we are enjoying .

Vote buying she mentioned that there a constitutional provision which prohibit any political party to involve vote inducement.

She pleaded with the political parties to act on any potential thread for the peace of this country .

The District Police Commander said for now no intelligence that there is any threat of violence in Bole District .

But ASP Emmanuel Annan was quick to say all poling stations remains hot spot stating that factors that may trigger violence at a poling may not exist there in the next election.

ASP Annan said the political parties have always violated the public order act and urged them to act accordingly for public peace.

He indicated that the notice is not for the police to agree to the program or not but for security and intelligence.

The Regional auditor speaking on behalf of the Regional Director said misinformation and misinformation is one of the biggest threat of democracy .

Mr Adamu Abdulai Mohammed said let’s always fact check information before acting reminding the people of family ties and also called on constituents to respect one another to stay peacefully .

He ended by saying that when politicians induce you with money please take it and vote against them so that next time they will understand that election is not about money indicating the effect of vote buying.

But if voter accept the inducement and still vote against them they will respect the voter .

The chairman of the IPDC said we should ensure that at the end of this democratic process there will still be peace.

Chief Dendenyiriwura said we should always report suspicious activities to chiefs in the various communities where there are no police station.

He said we should always ensure that any where we are there we should be talking about a peaceful election as family members.

Mr Alidu Sumani the Program Director of NCCE, said there are programs which will involve stakeholders on peaceful elections ahead of 2024.
