The Executive Director of Boresah Foundation, Queen Boresah Fatavie, has donated learning materials worth hundreds of cedis to players of Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy who are all pupils of Gbogdaa Methodist Basic School in the Bole District of Savannah Region.
This follows a passionate appeal made by the founder and manager of Gbogdaa Volleyball Academy, Mr Osman Issahaku aka Champion to Boresah Foundation, to assist the pupils who all needy since their parents are peasant farmers.
The learning materials made of quality note books , pens, pencils, whiteboard markers and napkins were sent via a Tamale bus and picked up and distributed to distributed to the elated pupils by their caring manager and proactive teacher, Champion on Monday October 7, 2024 in the school.
In an interview with Yagbon Radio, the obviously happy coach cum teacher expressed his profound gratitude to Queen Boresah for promptly coming to the aid of his students and players. ‘Most of them(students) were using a few books for all nine or so subjects.
Meaning they combine two or more subjects in one book’. Champion explained. ‘In fact, the donation has come at the right time since we have just begun the first term of the 2024/2025 academic year’. Added the passionate teacher.
Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, the girls’ captain Kwame Paulina expressed gratitude to The Almighty for sending Mr Osman Issahaku, whom they described as their Saviour to them. ‘Thank you, Boresah, may God continue to bless you abundantly.’ The students shouted in chorus.
On his part, the assistant headmistress Madam Sulemana Shukuru on behalf of the staff, was thankful to Champion and the donor but was quick to request for more. ‘Getting adequate learning materials has always been a big challenge for us. We pray that our dear sister and others would come with more items next time.’ She hoped.
When contacted via phone, Queen Boresah Fatavie, Executive Director of the Boresah Royal Foundation, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to making a lasting impact in Gonja. “Our goal is to uplift rural communities and empower the youth through education. We believe that by supporting these young minds, we are investing in the future of our nation,” she remarked.
She also hinted that more initiatives like that are planned for other parts of the Gonjaland in the coming months. While the donation was met with immense gratitude, both students and teachers continued to appeal for more support.
