Nasco Feeding Minds has introduced another livelihood empowerment program known as Nasco Bee Cooperative starting with six communities in the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba District.

The communities include Soma, Vondiel, Jilikon, Yipala, Kenchen and Yolyiri who are to be in the project for three years.

NASCO Feeding Minds provided the group with bee boxes, Wellington boots, cutlasses among all the equipment for bee farming.

With the introduction of Refect Africa project the groups are also supposed to provide raw materials in a form of farm residue to supply the energy plant at Tuna Senior High / Technical School.

Addressing the media the Executive Director of Nasco Feeding Mind, Hon seidu Nuhu Banasco explained that aside providing basic necessities for the various schools there is a responsibility to empower parents to provide for the child well-being in school.

Banasco buttressed this point by indicating aside providing computer Labs, text books, furniture among other schools facilities there’s also the need to empower parents.

So on this backdrop, Nasco Feeding Minds introduced the Nasco Bee Cooperative to support parents financially to cater for their homes, Banasco said.

Hon Banasco said there are international friends who buys the honey at the end of the season from the groups.

The facilitator of the project and Mr. Anwulo Evarest said bee keeping has always being the best support to all categories of people.

Mr. Evarest explained that either disabled or not but one can do bee keeping and so urged farmers to take advantage of this opportunity from Nasco Feeding Minds to elevate their standard of living adding that there is ready market for it.
