Bole District Assembly celebrates 67th Independence Day Anniversary.

The Bole District Assembly has successfully celebrated the 67th Independence Day of Ghana with a call on citizens to maintain peace before, during and after the 2024 general elections.

The celebration as usual brought students, cooperate associations, heads of departments and agencies and residents of Bole.

In a welcome address the District Director of Education Mr. Richard Achinani Sepaga expressed his gratitude to the Assembly for the support of his sector.

The Director mentioned among other successes in the enrollment, school blocks and teachers improvement.

He however mentioned among other challenges in the education sector in the District including inadequate dual desk for the elementary education.

He also pleaded with the government and other benevolent organisations to support the GES staff with computers and printers for a smoother working environment.

The Director said despite the efforts of the government to provide teachers and school blocks, they still have a teacher deficit of 419 and 28 schools still under trees.

Addressing the anniversary parade, the District Chief Executive for Bole District Hon Veronica Alele Hemeng expressed a warm gratitude on behalf of the President of the Republic of Ghana to the people of Bole.

She called on citizens to use the day as a mark to consolidate our gains as a nation adding that three decades of stable democracy is a great achievement within the sub-saharan region.

She said this action of Ghanaian has earned us the beacon of democracy in the Sub-Saharan Africa, this she said underscored the need for us to maintain the peace in yet another historic election of choosing a president and the people’s representatives.

She said we should consider the thing that combined us than those that divide us adding that we choose election of our leaders through a ballot box and we should maintain the peace that comes with it.

She said the instability in Burkina faso, Guinea, Niger among others has set the sub sahara back creating a lot of instability and hence admonished citizen to learn from those events.

She acknowledged SOCO and MasterCard foundation for their support to the District including Lorry pack, school blocks artisanal training for the development of the District.

Awards were given to participating schools and special awards to those who did tremendous well during the march pass.
