DCE urges contractors to deliver quality jobs.

Madam Veronica Alele Heming, Bole District Chief Executive (DCE) on Tuesday, November 14,2023, urged contractors working on The Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion (SOCO) projects to deliver quality jobs in order to ensure value for money.

She gave the advice when she handed over documents of the contracts to the contractors at her office.

The projects are made up of physical and soft components.

The physical projects include ; Construction of 1No. 3-Unit Classroom Block with an office, a store, a staff common room, 1№ 3 seater KVIP Toilet, 1№ 3unit urinal, Supply of 105№ metal dual desk, 5№ wooden teachers’ tables and chairs at Kalidu.

Construction of 1No. 3-Unit Classroom Block with an office, a store, a staff common Room, 1№ 3 seater KVIP Toilet, 1№ 3unit urinal, Supply of 105№ metal dual desk, 5№wooden teachers’ tables and chairs at Ntereso in the Bole District of Savannah Region.

Construction of 1No. 3-Unit Classroom Block with an office, a store, a staff
common room, 1№ 3 seater KVIP Toilet, 1№ 3unit urinal, Supply of 105№ metal dual desk, 5№ wooden teachers’ tables and chairs at Bonbontey.

Expansion and Maintenance of a Sheabutter Processing Center (Construction of a fence, drying bay, Shed, 1 No 2-unit urinal, and 1 No 2-unit larine) at Chache in the Bole District of Savannah Region.

Expansion of Lorry Park at Gbenfu – Phase 1 in the Bole District of Savannah Region.

Siting, Drilling and Mechanization of 1No. Boreholes with 1No. 1,000 litre
capacity tanks mounted on an elevated concrete stand powered by solar system at Dikataama.

tanks mounted on an elevated concrete stand powered by solar system at Gbebiri in the Bole District of Savannah Region.

The soft projects also include ; organize inter-cluster football gala in four clusters (Cluster 3,5,8 & 9 under Mankuma,
Mandari, Maluwe & Tinga Area councils respectively) to foster peace and cohesion among communities.

Organize skills training in Beekeeping (30), Soap making (40), Satelite installation (20), Tiling (10) and Groundnut processing (20) for selected youth { Gbenfu, Mandari,
Chache (Cluster 5, under Mandari Area Council) Banda-Nkwanta, Tinga, Sumpuoyiri (Cluster 9, under Tinga Area Council) Maluwe (Cluster 8, under Maluwe Area Council) Mankumah, Kakiase (Cluster 3 under Mankuma Area Council) }.

Organize community level dialoguing and sensitization on the effects of conflicts,
violence and extremism, climate change and girl child education. {Kloff, Wakawaka, Tontonbaa (Cluster 8, under Maluwe Area Council) Gbebiri, Deniyiri (Cluster 3 under Mankuma Area Council) Chancheri, (Cluster 5, under Mandari Area Council) Nuoyiri (Cluster 9, under Tinga Area Council).

The Bole District Assembly is one of the 48 Districts in Northern Ghana to benefit from the Gulf of Guinea Northern Regions Social Cohesion Project (SOCO).

The project, funded by the World Bank Group, covers Northern Ghana with the aim to address threats of extremism and violence, promoting socio-economic resilience and climate change adaptation.

The Ministry of Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development is leading the implementation of the project.

The DCE after handing over the contract documents to the contractors told Yagbon News in an interview that “I expect the contractors to execute good quality jobs.

We are giving them six months, and I trust that they will deliver on time.”

Mr Ibrahim Adams of Adams Buroni Enterprise Limited speaking on behalf of the contractors , promised that the they would undertake quality work and complete the projects on schedule.
