The Deputy Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency, Hon. Kontunotey Isaac Maamul, has urged voters to come out and register for their voter ID cards when the Electoral Commission (EC) opens registration on Tuesday September 12.

The ability of electorates to register for their voter IDs, he said was the only legitimate means they could use to win the upcoming elections in 2024.

Speaking to Yagbon News in an interview, Hon Isaac accused the NPP of misrule as their regime is characterised by ineptness, excessive borrowing, unbridled corruption, and abandonment of key state projects started by previous regimes.

“We are fed up with Nana Addo
deceptions and failure to fight corruption in Ghana during his term of office,” he said.

He also said ” Nana Addo and Bawumia’s NPP government has failed us on their promise to establish one district, one factory and the one million dollars they promised to give every constituency did not materialize”.

According to him, the NPP has been indicted for failing to fight corruption and tame mounting unemployment as well as neglecting the development of projects that were started by the erstwhile John Mahama administration.

“With these neglect alone, the NPP deserve to be voted out during the December 2024 general election to clear the way for NDC to take charge of the governance of Ghana,”he noted.

Commenting on the 2024 polls, Hon. Isaac said the NDC needed votes to win the December elections and that voters needed their ID cards to vote for the party.

He, therefore, appealed to electorates to encourage each other in their polling stations to register for their voter ID cards when the limited register opens on September 12.

“Let’s vote out NPP in the 2024 election due to their failure to deliver on their promises”, he said. “The time has come to stop the NPP by voting NDC for Ghana to develop and create jobs for Ghanaians”.

He pledged the party’s resolve to fight against corruption and create more jobs for the youth .

The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the voters’ registration exercise for individuals who have reached the age of 18 will commence on Tuesday, September 12 to Monday, October 2, 2023.

The exercise will be conducted at all 268 District Offices across the nation.

The EC will, however, charge GHC10 for the replacement of a voter’s ID card.
