The Zion Community Church International, has dedicated and handed over a borehole with hand pump to Kujanteng in the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba District of the Savannah Region.
The facility was drilled and handed over to the people after the problem of lack of potable drinking water in the community was brought before the church.
In a symbolic handing over at Kujanteng on Friday, the Founder of the church Apostle Dr Moses Sansah Konjon, stated that the borehole was drilled with support from the Frontiers Mission Network,an NGO under the church.
He was confident that the borehole would help to reduce the number of water-borne diseases in the area, and therefore charged the community members to take care of the facilities by regular maintenance.
For her part, a leader of the women group thanked the church for the intervention and said it would go a long to ensure that over 300 residents were served with potable drinking water in the beneficiary community and beyond.
She lamented the nature of the stream that was previously used by the communities and said it was demeaning for people to share drinking water with livestock and other animals.
She used the opportunity to commend the church for other interventions to promote health, education across the Region and called on other organisations to emulate same and partner the government to develop the country.
In attendance at the hand-over were all community members who expressed their joy for the kind gesture from the church.
