The spokesperson for the new Yagbonwura elect, Benkronwura Saaka Bakari, has said the election of Tulewewura Amonebafe Borenyi I as the overlord of the Gonja Kingdom is a hand over of responsibility and hence needs the support of all stakeholders to succeed.
He said said this on Yagbon Radio tea cup with Diwura Abdul Fataw in reaction to the election of Tulewewura Amonebafe Borenyi I as the new overlord of the Gonja kingdom.
Benkronwura said being an overlord comes with a lot of traditional set ups to keep the position effective on it dealings.
He said with the help of the traditional setup at the king’s level the Yagbonwura elect will be able to perform his duties effectively.
He said the peaceful transition has become a shock to the outside world but an excitement to the people of Gonja both internal and the diaspora.
According to him everyone in various media platform has applauded our the long time tested tradition of transition to the Gonja throne.
Others were of the view that this matter will travel far before it will be settled but just within two weeks Sonyowura and his kinsmen has come to conclude on Tulwewura, to him that is exciting and called for commendation of the Gonja tradition.
He said the best excitement comes when the entire entire kingdom support the him to lead the kingdom to it desired destination.
He called for peace in the kingdom adding that the people of Tulwe are those the power has being vested in but it is a collective responsibility of the entire kingdom.
He called on every son of the land to support the new new king in his works.
On Monday 7th February 2023 Sonyo wura Kanyiti l, the reagent and chief mourner of the Gonja kingdom with his Kinsmen announced Tulewewura Amonebafe Borenyi l as the new overlord of the Gonja kingdom
This was after the seventh day funeral performance of the late king Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa l who passed on 5th February 2023.
