Two panelists who appeared on Yagbon radio weekly local program dubbed” Jaanuor Buur” on Saturday have cautioned the youth against the negative pursuit of riches, and earthly comfort.

They emphasized that uncontrolled quest for pleasure, wealth and power were pushing many of the youth into harmful pursuits that could ruin their future here, and damned their souls hereafter.

Mr Backah Peter, Welfare Officer of the Ghana Education Service in the Bole District and Mr Dari Peter, a teacher both lamented about the rife in fraudulent online transactions, sport betting, drug trafficking, prostitution and kidnapping among the youth.

They pointed out that the lust and pride of life had lured many youth into armed robbery, stealing, alcoholism and drug abuse, and stressed the need for parents to also put premium on the spiritual development and upbringing of their children.

They emphasized that until the youth were guided, rooted and built on sound religious doctrines, they could not make any informed choices, and consequently shatter their dreams.

Reorienting yourselves by focusing your energies on hard work to earn a living while seeking God’s blessings, is the right way to living a good life, they said.

“What you haven’t worked for, you don’t appreciate its value so you tend to misuse it. And what doesn’t bring glory to God attracts curses. It is also said that life is what you make it, so if you don’t live a good life and work hard, it is predisposes you to engage in criminal activities out of greed.” they noted.
