Tingawura Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu, has called for stakeholders support in the improvement of the sanitation situation in the Tinga community of the Bole District.

The Chief of Tinga, Tingawura Alhaji Seidu Sampson Abudu on Friday, 3rd December, 2021 in an exclusive interview with Yagbon News bemoaned the poor sanitation situation of the Tinga community.

The Chief disclosed that there are no clean and conducive public places of convenience in the Tinga community hence residents resort to defecating in the bushes which according to him does not promote good personal hygiene and may lead to the outbreak of communicable diseases.

“We dont have toilets in Tinga so my people resort to going into the bushes to free themselves which is against the sanitation laws of Ghana. It doesn’t promote good personal hygiene and if this continues it may led to the outbreak of cholera and other diseases in this community”, he said.

He also added that there are no dumping containers in the community so the people indiscriminately dump refuse and the wind sometimes carry the refuse into the homes of residents.

Tingawura Seidu Sampson Abudu further noted that the Tinga slaughter house is in a very bad condition and doesn’t befit a place where meat is produced for public consumption.

“Tinga is a fast growing community and the butchers kill not less than two cattle on daily basis but when you go to see the slaughter house you might not want to eat the meat being produced from that place and all this a one of the major concerns to me and my people”, she stated.

However, he called on the Bole District Chief Executive, the MP, philanthropists and other relevant stakeholders to come to their aid by providing them with refuse containers at the various refuse dumps within the community, a slaughter house and toilets to help curb the poor sanitation conditions within the community.
