The Gonjaland Students Association of the Bole Senior High School (Bosec), on Saturday, 21st August, 2021, inducted into office new executives to lead the affairs of the association for the 2021/2022 academic year.
The Outgone president of the association for Bosec Branch, Abudulai Abdul Ganiu, during his speech disclosed that him and his executive board had a number of projects to be implemented during their tenure of office but Covid-19 among other unforseen misfortunes impeded their plans.
Among these projects according to him included the building of an office for the association and its patron but unfortunately this couldn’t see the light of the day but hopes that the new executive board will finalize all other bureaucratic activities and ensure that this dream of building an office for the association becomes a reality in their tenure of office.
Mohammed Abdul Razack, the newly sworn in president also stated that he and his executives hopes to implement all projects that their predecessors planned to have done but could not do.
As the new president of the association, he promised to initiate group studies and mentorship programmes among the student body as a catalyst to improve academic performance among members of the association.
He again promised to initiate cultural activities and fun games as a way to strengthen the unity that existed among members of the association as people from diverse tribes and cultural backgrounds.
That notwithstanding, Mr. Salifu Adams who graced the occasion as a representative from the Bole branch of Persons with Disability ( PWD) entreated students at the ceremony to work hard most especially the final year students among them as they prepare to write their final examination and implored them to take very good care of themselves and not to engage in activities that have the tendency to make them disable since the members of Persons with Disability do not wish to have more individuals joining their association.
However, the patron of the association, Mr. Alhassan Issahaku, who spoke to the media after the ceremony stated that even though some students and even members of the public consider the association to be for only Gonjas considering its name, he used the opportunity to note that the association is for all individuals in Gonjaland irrespective of ones tribe, religion or status in the society and the need for each and everyone to take interest in the activities of the association.
He further thanked individuals who graced the occasion and disclosed that the association faces a number of challenges and called on stakeholders in the region to help the association achieve its targeted goals.
