Twenty-seven elected Assembly Members from the Bole District in the Savannah Region have threatened to withdraw all dealings and cooperation with the management of the Bole District Assembly as a result of unfair treatment of their predecessors.

The threat was issued on June,14, 2021 through a statement by the elected Assembly Members.

According to the statement, they argued that the Assembly had failed to pay the Ex-gratia of their predecessors for over two years, as all efforts made to force the assembly to pay the money had proved futile.

They said they were embarking on the boycott of all Assembly activities in solidarity with their former Assembly Members, of which only five of the current membership were part.

They added that with the issuance of the statement, effective July, 5, 2021, they shall not honour any Assembly sittings, sub- committee meetings or any activity of an Assembly Member that may require of them moving from their Electoral Areas to the Assembly at Bole.

According to them the boycott will however, not affect their services to the to their Electoral Areas in areas such as assisting in sanitation management, aiding in the settlement of disputes,  maintenance of security,  implementation of government policies and programs and other area that their electorate may need their services.

The statement was copied to the Bole District Coordinating Director, the Savannah Regional Minister, the Ministry of Local Government and Decentralization, the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area, the Member of Parliament and the Paramount Chief of the North Mo Traditional Area.
