The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bole – Bamboi constituency, Hon Yussif Sulemana (Ori), has called on all supporters of the various political parties in Ghana to abide by the Public Order Act to ensure a peaceful election come December 7, 2020.

He said if all supporters of the various political parties, adhered to the advice to desist from insults and be calm there would be a violence-free election.

Hon. Yussif addressing the people of Jama on September 15, 2020, on the occasion of their annual Yam festival presented two computers to the Jama Community Library valued at 5,000 Ghana cedis bought with the MP’s Share of the District Assemblies’ Common Fund (DACF).

The secretary to the Kooro of Jama , Mr . Jacob Pambo , who received the computers on behalf of the people, thanked the MP for the kind gesture and pledged to ensure that they were used for the right purpose.

He said such noble gestures to promote the well being of people of a community, showed that people, who had been mandated to represent their people were committed and living up to expectation.

Prof. Dr. Noah Karley, presenting a speech on behalf of the the Jama Kooro Nnaa Kojo Pambo ll, stated that the annual event is a festive to usher in new yam into the year.

According to him, Jama is fast growing with population but lamented that the lack of some basic social amenities in the community is slowing down its growth.

He mentioned lack of deserving electricity, lack of clinical materials to equip their health center and lack of computers for the Junior High School as some of their pressing needs that needs urgent attention.

He therefore made a passionate appeal to the government and other donors to come to their support in providing them with the above mentioned challenges to improve the living conditions of the residents.

The Yam festival is celebrated by the people of Mo who call themselves Dega which literary means multiplying, spreading quickly or fertility and for that matter can be found almost everywhere in Ghana and the world as a whole.

On the map of Ghana the Mo people are predominantly located in four Municipal/ District namely Kintampo Municipal, Kintampo South District, Wenchi Municipal and Bole District in the Savannah Region.
