The Bole Municipality has marked Ghana’s 68th Independence Day Anniversary with a vibrant celebration at St. Kizito “A” Primary School, bringing together community leaders, educators, students, and security personnel under the theme “Reflect, Review, and Reset Ghana.”

The event, chaired by the District Coordinating Director, Mr. Adam Habib, emphasized the importance of national unity, security, and sustainable development in the wake of Ghana’s recent peaceful political transition.

In his address, Mr. Habib highlighted the significance of the day as a reminder of the sacrifices made by Ghana’s forebears to secure the nation’s freedom and sovereignty.

He noted that this year’s celebration was particularly poignant, coming just months after a historic and peaceful transfer of power following the 2024 general elections.

“This transition underscores our maturity as a democratic nation,” he stated, urging citizens to reflect on Ghana’s developmental journey and recommit to building a resilient future.

The District Coordinating Director also outlined key policy initiatives aimed at driving national progress.

He cited the “Irrigation for Wealth” program, currently being piloted in Bole District, which aims to cultivate 600 hectares of land to boost agricultural productivity.

Additionally, he expressed optimism about the upcoming national budget, which is expected to prioritize economic resilience, infrastructure development, and social protection for vulnerable groups.

Addressing security concerns, Mr. Habib revealed that the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) and the District Security Council (DISEC) had recently convened to strategize against a spate of serial killings in the area.

He assured the public of ongoing efforts to address the issue but stressed the need for collective vigilance.

“Effective security requires the active participation of every citizen,” he said, urging residents to report suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.

The celebration also featured a colorful parade by students from various schools, showcasing their dedication and patriotism.

Mr. Habib commended the Ghana Education Service for organizing the event and praised the students for their outstanding performances.

He extended congratulations to the schools that would receive awards for their parade displays, describing their efforts as a testament to the nation’s bright future.

Mr. Habib wished attendees a joyful Independence Day and called on all Ghanaians to work together to uphold the values of freedom, unity, and progress.

The event served as a powerful reminder of Ghana’s enduring spirit and its commitment to building a prosperous and secure nation for generations to come.
