Choru to benefit from Africa energy park project

The Choru Traditional Area is set to benefit from an energy sustainable project dubbed Africa energy Park project.

This was disclosed during a durber of chiefs and people of choru and Kong traditional areas.

The project is funded by European Union under the EU Ghana relation with the support from over 8 European countries.

It has over 20 local partners in Ghana collaborating to implement a four year project in CREMA communities along the mole park lead by a local NGO Partners for Participatory Development (PAPADEV)

In a welcome address to the chief and people of the beneficiary communities Choruwura Dramani Kabasagya expressed his gratitude to the donors.

Expressing his optimism of the project to the development of the area he also emphasized that it will create jobs to keep of the youth in the community .

Stating numerous challenges as in lack of electricity in the area emphasing that when Tuna Valkoru mentioned the project to him he saw it as a beautiful mirage.

The local AEP project coordinator Chief Dachargu Mwangu said as a member of traditional chiefs in Gonja land they have discussions on deteriorating of of the forest by logging and charcoal burning.

As a result these global trend, EU decided to fund the project in order to solve the this activity ,chief Dachargu said .

Chief Dachargu said the durber is the climax of all their efforts but the beginning of hardwork that lies ahead of everyone .

The project coordinator at Aarhus University in Denmark prof Comeliu Barbu said the project comes in several folds including food processing ,storage and energy.

He said the energy will include Bio mass and solar energy to Choru and its adjoining communities.

Prof Comeliu stated they are embracing on the project to protect biodiversity and the environment for sustainable future.

The project he said will also create a smart climate and resilience agriculture through irrigation and modern technology

He called on all hands to be on deck for the project the especialy the mole ecological area for sustainable environment.

Prof expressed gratitude to chief Moses Dachargu Mwangu Tuna Valkoru for his relentless effort to see the success of the project.
