Hajia Shirina Mohammed, 40, the alleged soothsayer who allegedly masterminded the lynching a 90-year-old woman, Madam Akua Denteh, at Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region, has been remanded into police custody by the Bole Magistrate Court presided over by His Worship Andrew Prince Cudjoe.
The accused person was provisionally charged with murder.
The case prosecutor, chief inspector Abdulai B. Awuni, pleaded with the court to remand the accused person for further investigation.
The judge granted the request of the police prosecutor and demanded the accused be remanded into police custody and to reappear in court on August 20, 2020.
The accused, a key suspect of the incident was arrested at her hideout at Yeji in the Bono- East Region.
7 suspects including two females and five males who are believed to have participated in the lynching have since been remanded into police custody by the Bole Magistrate Court .
All the 7 suspects will reappear before the Bole Magistrate Court on August 20, 2020.
