The National Commission for Civic Education in the Sawla Tuna Kalba District of the Savannah Region has organized a community dialogue series dubbed police community dialogue.
The initiative forms part of Prevention and Containing Violence Extremism funded by EU .
Addressing participants at Sawla community centre the District Director of NCCE Issaku Losina said the PCVE involves a series of programs including engagement between inter party dialogue committees and the youth, media among others.
These efforts he said is to create public awareness on the activities of violence extremists.
Mr Losina said the call on participants to appreciate the impact of these extremists to national instability and individuals safety.
He said these extremists usually take advantage to exploit social fracture to spread it destructive ideology.
Mr Losina said this community dialogue series is the build a cooperation between society services especially the Ghana police service.
Addressing participants the District Police commander for Sawla Tuna Kalba DSP Lambert called for a collaborative effort to combat crime in the District .
The commander called on participant to take their personal security serious adding that they should always report suspicious activities to the police for a peaceful community existence.
He encouraged politicians and electorates to go about their political activities devoid of all forms of violence .
He called on the public to trust the police service to protect their lives and properties and this can only be done with public trust in the the service men.
