Nasco Feeding Minds, as part of its social corporate responsibility has donated mobile equipment to persons with disabilities in the Sawla -Tuna- Kalba District.
The support was under the project Nasco Mobility Support for persons with disabilities.
The items included 11 wheelchairs, 9 clutches and walking sticks.
Speaking at the program, the District deputy Social Welfare officer Mr Joe Nso Atanga thanked Banasco and Nasco feeding Minds for the kind gesture.
He said the department needs more of as such support as it will complement the efforty of the department.
He said Banasco is an outstanding personality in the District as his service to humanity is visible everywhere.
Speaking at the ceremony Madam Abiba Bakari Soale, District Director of Education, said the law has called for an inclusive education and for that matter persons with disabilities wouldn’t be left out.
She added that, the District is handicapped of human resource base in the education sector in the District, the reason they don’t have specially train teachers to handle person with disabilities.
She called on government to come to the aid of the district by addressing the challenge.
Addressing the gathering, Sawlawura Abdulai Nungbaso said he was very grateful to the Organization for the donation adding that one must show appreciation for any support one receives.
He encouraged the persons with disabilities that disability does mean inability and urged them to engage in meaningful economic gains in order not to depend on others for support.
He pleaded with them to take good care of the items given to them and called for support from other organizations to support PWDs in the area.
The Executive Director for Nasco Feeding Minds, Banasco Seidu Nuhu said this is just a tip of the ice burg as more of such support would be given to PWDs in the District as he assured those who have not received to exercise restraint for their turn.
He expressed gratitude to Dansk Handicap Foundation his Denmark partners for the support.
