Tingawura Declares Zero Tolerance for Drug Abuse.

The Chief of Tinga and the Council of State Member of the Savannah Region,Gariba Abutu Sampson, has declared zero tolerance for drug abuse and environmental destruction, describing the menace as an escalating crisis threatening the future of the youth in the area.

According to him, drug abuse among young people has assumed alarming proportions, with devastating consequences for individuals, families, and society at large.

He said the situation demanded urgent action, stressing the need for traditional authorities to rise to the occasion by enforcing a total ban on drug use and excessive environmental destruction by illegal miners in the Savannah Region to save the youth from a menace that has already claimed many lives and rendered others “useless” in the community.

Alhaji Sampson made these remarks at launch of his Foundation; “Tingawura Assa Foundation” that seeks to empower the youth in the region.

“drug abuse among our youth is of grave concern to me. My aim is to bring this fight directly to our communities, schools, and homes,” Gariba Sampson stated.

“From today, I am declaring a zero-tolerance stance against substance abuse throughout the region” he added.

He added that,the Foundation is to serve as a vehicle through which we can complement the development al efforts of the government to bring hope and opportunities to our people especially the youth and the vulnerable in society.

He stressed that education remains one of the greatest tools for transformation and because of this reality he has taken it upon himself to engage students directly.

Gariba Tingawura said that drugs and substances abuse is gradually becoming one of the biggest threat to our young people at the same time environmental destruction continues to threaten our communities as well therefore he Gariba Tingawura Alhaji Sampson Abutu donates 100 thousand Ghana cedis to his Foundation as seed capital.

Two committee were formed ,that is the Tinga Community Development Committee responsible for developmental activities in the community and the Tinga Speed Committee to reduce careless riding,overspending in the community.
