Hon. Muazu Saeed Jibril, has said that the devastating effects of the Buipe floods this year cannot be over emphasised despite recording other flood situations in other parts of Districts within Savannah enclave.
The minister made the statement during the presentation of relief items and inspection of the situation at the camp of flood victims in Buipe.
He expressed gratitude to the Chief of Staff and her committee for sympathizing with them in this trying times.
Quantifying the total number number of properties lost to the flood the minister said 387 houses were were totally submerged, 4 poultry farms totalling 1000 birds, 1600 livestock’s and 1560 acres of farms were totally submerged.
Addressing the affected victims at Buipe, the Chief of Staff Madam Osei Frema Opare said the President is sympathizing with them for this tragedy as he knows how hard it is to lose a hard earned property.
She said the Committee was initially formed for Akonsombo spillage victims but the President decided to include Buipe due to the devastating effects of the flooding in the area.
She said the in the age of digitalization everyone has a phone and encouraged all to always the call the emergency line 311 in times of trouble.
She also said that she has brought a lot of items to support them including bowls, soap, beverages, packs of sacket water, mats among among others.
The Chairperson said she is very pleased with the announcement by Buipewura to give them land for a relocation of the affected victims.
She said the happiest thing is that the traditional authority is ready to collaborate with the government to find a lasting solution and ensures that comes to a reality.
